Lamborghini Urus vs Bentley Bentayga: Same Platform, Different Personality

Bentley Bentayga rental Dubai — same platform as the Urus, very different cabin

Two Badges, One Factory

Lamborghini Urus in Dubai — the theatrical side of the MLB Evo platform

There's a detail about the Lamborghini Urus that most people don't know: it shares its underlying platform with the Bentley Bentayga. Same VW Group architecture (MLB Evo), same factory in Bratislava, same underlying chassis, same air suspension, same 48V active anti-roll system. In the case of the V8 variants, they even share the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission.

What changes between the two is philosophy. Lamborghini takes that shared hardware and tunes it for theatre — louder exhaust, firmer dampers, more aggressive body, dramatic interior. Bentley takes the same hardware and tunes it for refinement — quieter cabin, softer ride, handcrafted leather, British restraint. Two completely different cars to experience, built on an essentially identical mechanical foundation.

This matters if you're weighing a Lamborghini Urus rental against a Bentley Bentayga rental in Dubai. You're not really choosing between two different cars. You're choosing between two different *interpretations* of the same car — drama vs refinement — at two different price points. This guide walks through how the two compare, what you actually get for the money, and which is right for which trip.

The Shared Platform: What the Urus and Bentayga Have in Common

Bentley Bentayga Black Line Edition Dubai — white car with gloss-black styling pack on the shared MLB Evo platform

Let's be specific about what "same platform" means here, because it's more than marketing.

MLB Evo architecture. Both the Urus and the Bentayga are built on the VW Group's MLB Evo longitudinal-engine platform — the same platform that underpins the Audi RSQ8, the Audi Q7, and the Porsche Cayenne. The body-in-white, the core chassis structure, the suspension mounting points, and the packaging of the drivetrain are shared parts.

The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 is identical on V8 variants. The current Bentley Bentayga V8 uses the same 4.0TFSI engine as the Urus — 542bhp in the Bentayga V8, 641bhp in the Urus S. Same block, same heads, same turbochargers. The power difference is software tuning; Lamborghini pushes the tune harder for peak output at the cost of low-end refinement.

The Bentayga W12 is the one genuinely different engine. If you're renting the Bentayga W12 (the older 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 producing 626bhp), that's a Bentley-specific engine — not shared with the Urus. The W12 is smoother, more refined at low speed, and was the signature Bentley engine until 2023. Most current Bentayga rentals in Dubai are the V8 variant, which does share the Urus engine.

The chassis hardware is shared. Both cars use the same air suspension architecture, the same 48V active anti-roll bars, the same rear-wheel-steering setup, and the same Torsen-style centre differential for the all-wheel-drive system. The damper tune is different — Bentley goes softer by default, Lamborghini goes firmer — but the underlying hardware is the same production parts.

Both are assembled in Bratislava. Like the Urus and the RSQ8, the Bentayga is built at the VW Group Bratislava plant in Slovakia. Same production line, same quality control processes.

The Interior Difference: Where Bentley Wins on Luxury

Bentley Bentayga interior — handcrafted British luxury

Where the Bentayga genuinely pulls ahead of the Urus is the cabin. This isn't close — the Bentley is the more luxurious SUV by every measurable standard.

Craftsmanship. Bentayga interiors are hand-finished at Bentley's Crewe facility in the UK. The leather is selected and stitched by hand, the wood veneers are matched by eye and book-matched across the cabin, and the metalwork (including the iconic bullseye air vents) is machined to tolerances that feel more jewellery-industry than automotive. The Urus cabin is built well — but it's built on a German-automotive production line, not a Crewe workshop.

Quietness. The Bentayga has thicker laminated glass, more sound deadening, and a more acoustically optimised exhaust system than the Urus. At 120 km/h on Sheikh Zayed Road, the Bentayga cabin is measurably quieter than the Urus — several decibels lower by independent measurement. For the Abu Dhabi run or for long highway cruising in Dubai generally, this matters a lot more than most people expect.

Ride quality. Bentley tunes the air suspension softer than Lamborghini. The Bentayga rides better over Dubai's speed bumps, construction patches, and compound driveway ramps. Over a weekend rental you'll notice the Bentayga is the easier car to live with in the city.

Rear-seat experience. The Bentayga is set up as a chauffeur-capable SUV — deep rear seats, optional four-seat layout with individual recliners and a rear cool-box, Naim for Bentley premium audio. The Urus is set up as a driver's SUV — rear seats are fine, but they're not the point of the car. If the people you're renting for will spend any time in the back, the Bentley wins decisively.

Technology. Honest caveat: the Urus's dashboard and infotainment feel slightly more modern than the Bentayga's. Bentley interiors are beautiful but their digital interfaces are a generation behind Lamborghini's. If you care about screen technology more than materials, the Urus edges ahead here. If you care about materials more than screens, the Bentayga is in a different league.

The Driving Difference: Where Lamborghini Wins on Drama

Lamborghini Urus Dubai — the theatrical driving experience

The Urus is the dramatic car. The Bentayga is the composed car. This isn't a value judgement — they're tuned for different customers.

Exhaust note. The Urus has one of the loudest factory exhaust systems on any production SUV. Even at low speeds it has a distinctive V8 growl that announces its arrival at any valet line. The Bentayga V8 uses the same engine but with a much more restrained exhaust tune — it sounds refined rather than theatrical. If you want your Dubai rental to announce itself at the Atlantis or Nobu valet, the Urus does it. The Bentayga specifically doesn't.

Throttle and transmission response. Lamborghini tunes the Urus for sharp, aggressive shifts and immediate throttle response. The Bentayga is tuned for smooth, progressive power delivery and imperceptible shifts. Both reach the same speed; they feel very different getting there.

Steering weight and feel. The Urus uses a heavier, more direct steering setup. The Bentayga is tuned for effortless low-speed maneuvering — lighter wheel, more linear response — which is better for hotel valet queues and tight underground parking but less communicative at pace.

Chassis tune. Lamborghini goes stiffer by default. Bentley goes softer. On Jebel Jais, the Urus handles better through the switchbacks because it rolls less and turns in harder. On Sheikh Zayed Road at cruising speed, the Bentayga is the more restful car because it soaks up road imperfections that the Urus transmits to the cabin.

Straight-line pace. Urus S: 0-100 in 3.5s, top speed 305 km/h. Bentayga V8: 0-100 in 4.4s, top speed 290 km/h. The Urus is meaningfully quicker in a straight line, though both are fast enough that the difference is only felt when you specifically go looking for it.

For Dubai use: if you specifically want the theatrical experience — the exhaust note at low speed, the aggressive body stance at every valet — the Urus is the better fit. For everything else — airport transfers, Palm Jumeirah evenings, Downtown business dinners, family trips — the Bentayga is the more pleasant car to spend time in.

Price Comparison: Bentayga vs Urus Rental Rates in Dubai

At LuxeClub, the Lamborghini Urus rents for AED 2,499/day (Black) or AED 2,599/day (Yellow). The Bentley Bentayga rents for AED 1,299/day across the standard Black and Brown trims and the Black Line Edition. That's a daily saving of around AED 1,200 — roughly 48% — for two cars that share the same VW Group platform.

Daily rate breakdown:

Lamborghini Urus (Black): AED 2,499/day Lamborghini Urus (Yellow): AED 2,599/day Bentley Bentayga (Black): AED 1,299/day Bentley Bentayga (Brown): AED 1,299/day Bentley Bentayga Black Line Edition (White): AED 1,299/day You save on a Bentayga: ~AED 1,200/day

The Bentayga is the better-value choice if you want an MLB Evo-platform luxury SUV but don't specifically want the Lamborghini badge experience. Over a week or month the daily savings add up meaningfully, freeing budget for the experiences that actually shape the trip — a full-day yacht charter, a weekend at the Burj Al Arab, or several fine-dining dinners across the stay.

Which to Rent: A Dubai Use-Case Framework

Bentley Bentayga in brown — one of two colour options on the Dubai rental fleet

A short decision framework to help you pick between renting a Bentley Bentayga or a Lamborghini Urus in Dubai.

Rent the Bentley Bentayga if: - You want a luxury SUV experience with genuine British refinement - Airport transfers, business meetings, or chauffeured-feel trips are part of your rental use - You're travelling with family and the passenger experience matters as much as the driver's - You're planning long drives (Abu Dhabi, Hatta, Oman border) where cabin quietness pays off - You want presence at hotel valets (Atlantis, Burj Al Arab, Emirates Palace) without the attention a Urus draws - You specifically want to rent a Bentley Bentayga in Dubai — the badge carries more weight in Gulf business contexts than most people realise - You're staying in Dubai for a week or longer and want the most comfortable SUV to live with across the trip

Rent the Lamborghini Urus if: - The car is part of a theatrical moment — wedding, milestone birthday, major photo opportunity - You specifically want the Lamborghini badge and the attention that comes with it - You want the theatrical soundtrack and presence over the refinement of the Bentayga - Your trip is short (1–2 days) and the extra daily rate is small in context - The exhaust note itself is part of what you're buying - You care more about the interior drama (Alcantara, hexagonal vents, start-button cover) than handcrafted leather

Rent the Bentayga Black Line Edition specifically if: you want the standard Bentayga V8 experience with a more assertive aesthetic. The Black Line Edition is mechanically identical to the standard Bentayga V8 — same engine, same chassis, same ride — but Bentley's gloss-black styling pack replaces every piece of bright chrome with black trim. Finished in white as ours is, the contrast is what makes the car distinctive. At AED 1,299/day it's the same price as the other Bentaygas and the styling choice is purely cosmetic.

The Honest Recommendation

Bentley Bentayga — the refined alternative to the Lamborghini Urus in Dubai

If you're still reading, here's our honest take — as a rental company with both the Bentley Bentayga and the Lamborghini Urus available on the fleet.

For most Dubai luxury SUV rentals, the Bentayga is the more considered choice. It's the more refined car, it's the more comfortable car, it's meaningfully cheaper, and it carries the kind of understated presence that works as well in a DIFC boardroom arrival as it does at the Atlantis valet on a Friday night. If your priority is the car itself as a daily experience over a week or a month, the Bentayga is the one.

The Urus is the right choice when you're buying drama. The Lamborghini badge, the exhaust note, the theatrical interior — these are the reasons to pay the premium. If your rental is tied to a specific photo-heavy moment, or you want a car that announces itself at every valet queue you pull into, the Urus does what the Bentayga deliberately doesn't.

Book the Bentley Bentayga (standard) for the best-value entry into the platform, the Bentley Bentayga Black Line Edition if you want the white-and-gloss-black styling spec, or the Bentley Bentayga (Brown) if you want the distinctive colour option. All are owned directly by us, serviced before every rental, and delivered to any Dubai address.

If you want the Urus, we have both the Lamborghini Urus (Black) and the Lamborghini Urus (Yellow) available on the fleet. See our full Lamborghini rental Dubai page for the wider range.

For the related story on another shared-platform comparison, see our Lamborghini Urus vs Audi RSQ8 guide — the RSQ8 is the third MLB Evo SUV in our fleet, sitting at the value end of the platform spectrum. And for the broader picture across every luxury SUV we stock, the luxury SUV rental Dubai page covers the full line-up from the entry-level Audi Q3 through to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Mansory at the top.

Check our no-deposit rental policy — both the Bentayga and the Urus are cars we often approve the no-deposit option on for eligible drivers (aged 23+, with documentation in order and a clean driving history).
